The Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Delta State Council, Comr. Sagboje Odiri Milton, CLN, has been conferred with the Youth Leadership Excellence Award by the National Association of Ghanaian Communities in Nigeria (NAGHACON).

The prestigious honour was presented at NAGHACON’s 21st National Delegate Conference and 30th Anniversary Celebration, a landmark event that gathered leaders of Ghanaian communities, development partners, and distinguished guests from across Nigeria. The ceremony, enriched with vibrant cultural showcases and reflections on three decades of impactful service, underscored the growing strength of Ghana–Nigeria relations at the grassroots level.

Presenting the award on behalf of the Ghana High Commissioner to Nigeria, His Excellency Alhaji Jamal Mohammed Ahmed, the President of NAGHACON, Patriot Frank Ekow Quaye, described Comr. Sagboje as “a dynamic, visionary, and selfless youth leader whose impact transcends borders.” He explained that the recognition was in appreciation of Sagboje’s unwavering advocacy for youth inclusion, promotion of peace, community cohesion, and strategic initiatives that have positively impacted thousands of young people across Delta State.

Quaye further noted that NAGHACON celebrates individuals who embody integrity, compassion, and a people-centred approach—qualities he said are clearly evident in Comr. Sagboje’s leadership.

In his acceptance speech, Comr. Sagboje expressed deep appreciation for the honour, describing it as a testament to the collective efforts of youth stakeholders across Delta State. He stated that the award would further inspire his commitment to advancing youth engagement, social responsibility, and regional collaboration.

“I am profoundly honoured by this recognition from NAGHACON. This award goes beyond me; it reflects the strength and resilience of Delta State youths whose passion continues to drive our work. I dedicate this honour to our visionary leader, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, Executive Governor of Delta State, whose commitment to youth development fosters innovation and inclusion, as well as to the entire youth constituency of our state.”

Comr. Sagboje reaffirmed his dedication to deepening partnerships with communities, institutions, and development stakeholders, emphasizing that sustainable youth development remains a shared responsibility.
